Peanut Butter Syrup

Why have plain ol’ pancake syrup when you can have this! This is the stuff dreams are made of. Peanut butter syrup is the best of both worlds; the world where people use syrup on their pancakes and the world where people spread peanut butter on them. This combo deal will satisfy both!

Start by adding the sugar and water together in a medium saucepan. Stir until it is dissolved over medium heat.

It will start to bubble. Bubble and stir for about 4-6 minutes. Add the peanut butter.

Whisk together until smooth. Remove from heat and add the vanilla. Stir through and let cool. You’re finished product will look like this:

Peanut Butter Syrup

1 c. sugar
1/2 c. water
2 T. peanut butter
1 t. vanilla

In a medium saucepan, cook water and sugar over medium heat until it bubbles for about 4-6 minutes. Add peanut butter. Whisk until smooth and creamy. Remove from heat and add vanilla. Stir until smooth. Allow time to cool.

For those of you that are looking for a special treat, add chocolate chips as garnish! Or, if you’re feeling REALLY spunky, use this buttermilk pancake recipe and add chocolate chips to the batter, then add this syrup on top!
